Iā€™m Jamie and I make abstract paintings.

I started painting as a way to decorate my own space with patterns and colors I liked. I would use glass, the backing of a shelving unit, large pieces of cardboard; anything I could repurpose to make something new.

I work from a very instinctual place and try to let the pieces evolve naturally and shape things as I go. I consider my process one of controlled chaos. I also look to nature and draw on plants, animals, insects, and microbes for inspiration and patterns.

I utilize acrylic, latex-based paint, and spray paint to form an abstract base and then add detail with acrylic paint pens.
